Listening to a recent episode of the Cannabis Cultivation and Science Podcast, an interesting thought was brought up…

Why, in the current recreational cannabis landscape, is potency so highly regarded?

Of course, most recreational consumers want weed that will get them blazed, no doubt. But why are fragrance and flavor so often discussed as secondary factors? The podcast brought up a recent blind competition where judges were asked to pick their favorite choice out of ten different strains, with no strain info offered. No THC percentages, no terpene profiles. Nothing.

And you know what strain won?

Slurricane. A strain that tops out at around 25% THC – no slouch, but also nowhere near the very top of the potency scale for flower options.

But boy oh boy, is it a tasty, fragrant, delicious cultivar.

Let's dig deep into the Slurricane strain and find out if the hype is justified.

Slurricane Weed Strain Info

Slurricane is a cross between Do-Si-Dos and Purple Punch – two incredibly popular strains in their own right. The result is an Indica-dominant hybrid with the juiciest of terpene profiles that is sure to delight.

Coming in hot out of the breeding room tables over at In House Genetics, the Slurricane weed strain is a true Washington banger through and through. It makes sense, with a family tree as strong as this one, it's hard for things to go wrong. Both parents are legends in their own right, and now they've spawned Slurricane - a strain that is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after in the Pacific Northwest.

In House Genetics does not sell direct to the public, so getting your hands on Slurricane seeds has been something of a challenge. But here at MSNL, we just secured a special batch of the Slurricane seeds. Get 'em while you can!

What Is The Terpene Profile Of Slurricane?

TERPENEPERCENTAGE
Limonene0.20%
Terpineol0.19%
Caryophyllene0.16%
Linalool0.10%%
Pinene0.08%

What Does Slurricane Taste Like?

Unlike many of the newer offerings, Slurricane's taste matches her unbelievable aroma. There's a lot going on with this one, and the mix is one of a kind.

The smoke is sweet and full-bodied, with an intense tropical fruit flavor that lingers on the palette for much longer than one expects. There are notes of berries, vanilla, and cinnamon, with a dashing of dankness that's nothing short of glorious.

What Are The Effects Of Slurricane Weed Strain?

It should go without saying that the effects of any strain are totally tolerance dependent, but with Slurricane topping out at 25% (with most phenos closer to the 22% mark) there's nothing to be overly cautious about.

The Slurricane cultivar is along the lines of most new-school hybrids. The Indica dominance is noticeable, but there's just enough Sativa in the mix to keep things interesting. The high comes on strong and fast, delivering a wave of joy and relaxation that is hard to put into words.

Satisfying isn't the right word – euphoric might be a bit more accurate. It's more of a body high for the first 10 minutes, but the Sativa side quickly comes to the party, bringing with it some pretty surprising mental clarity.

Overall, this strain is the epitome of a crowd-pleaser. There's something for everyone, and then some...

What Do Medical Users Say About Slurricane?

Slurricane is just as popular with medicinal cannabis users as the stoner crowd. Anecdotal evidence points to this strain being great for those looking for relief from chronic stress, pain, anxiety, depression, and sleeping issues.

It should be noted that this strain can produce a pretty intense couch lock effect (which is why it's so popular with recreational users), but the mental clarity is enough to keep things in balance - making Slurricane a great option for those looking for daytime relief.

Does Slurricane Make You Hungry?

It's also incredibly effective for combating nausea, especially when combined with other Indica-dominant cultivars. This anti-nausea effect is most likely due to the heavy munchies that arrive around an hour after smoking.

Get the snacks ready early though, because you won't want to get cooking once the high sets in. Or maybe you will, who knows really.

Is Slurricane Good For Insomnia?

It sure is. The high ends with a strong body buzz that melts away all of the day's worries, making it easy to drift off into a restful sleep. Great for those who want to end the day peacefully, and ready to sleep.

Slurricane Strain FAQ

Is Slurricane Indica Or Sativa?

Slurricane is a hybrid, meaning it is a mix of both sides of the cannabis family tree. Most phenos sit at the 60/40 mark, leaning to the Indica flank.

Is Slurricane Strong?

Strength, when it comes to weed, is subjective. What rocks one person may not for the next, especially when the differences in tolerance are taken into account. Slurricane sits around the 25% THC mark, which less than a decade ago would have put her in the top 10% of strains. It is a bit of a different story these days though, with a bunch of strains going above 30% THC. But remember, potency is not everything.

Who Bred Slurricane?

The wizards at In House Genetics are behind this glorious strain and a whole smorgasbord of others. We stock them all here and are proud to be one of the few seed banks that In House has partnered with.

What Is The Flowering Time Of Slurricane?

That's a tricky question to give an exact answer to. Generally, Slurricane should finish flowering between 8 and 10 weeks when cultivated in perfect environmental conditions, but it can extend to 12 weeks in less-than-ideal circumstances. She prefers a slightly warmer climate and with the humidity slightly bumped up (around 70%) for the vegetative growth stage, but once the flowers start to appear it's best to drop it down below 50%.
