Weed-Infused Mocktail Recipes

Combining alcohol and weed isn’t anything new. It’s a favourite pastime of many, but typically the two are enjoyed separately with one balancing the other out. But what if you could get all of the effects you’re after without having to sneak away to smoke a bowl or a joint? Now you can with a form of edibles that is slowly taking over the market – weed-infused drinks!

With these weed-infused drink recipes, you can add a little more buzz to the festivities, or leave them alcohol-free to enjoy a refreshing cannabis mocktail. Either way, you’ll have three new recipes that will leave you enjoying drinks in a way you never have before.

These recipes all use tinctures; those mixtures of alcohol and THC, so you don’t need to worry about decarboxylating the weed before or even dissolving it slightly in fat before making your own weed-infused drink. You can find tinctures either online or in dispensaries.

Party Punch

This weed-infused drink is definitely going to get the party started! The punch is like that you’d find at any office party, but with an extra little kick for those that want it. This recipe makes between 1 and 3 servings, so if you need to serve a crowd of edible-lovers, you might want to increase all ingredients accordingly.

Ingredients:

½ cup pomegranate juice

1 cup tangerine juice

2 cups cranberry juice cocktail

1 cup lemon lime soda

1 cup soda water

1- 2 pulls of cannabis tincture (which should be about 1 to 2 teaspoons)

* Optional - ½ cup of vodka, tequila, or other hard liquor

Directions:

1.) Combine all ingredients together and stir very well to ensure everything is mixed together. Pour over ice in a large pitcher and serve.

Cannabis Hard Lemonade

Just about everyone loves hard lemonade, especially after working in the sun or as a way to unwind after a hard day. Now you can have it in a weed-infused drink form and make it even harder, and even more refreshing.

Ingredients:

6 cups of cold water

8 – 10 lemons

1 cup of sugar

3 teaspoons of tincture

*Optional: 1 cup of vodka

Directions:

1.) Place the cold water and the sugar in a large saucepan set over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil and stir to ensure all the sugar has been dissolved. This will keep your lemonade from being gritty as the boiling process will dissolve the sugar granules. Once the sugar is dissolved, set the syrup aside and allow it to cool.

2.) Next it’s time to juice the lemons. To get the full amount of juice out of the lemons, run them under your palm on the counter and gently roll them for about 10 seconds. This will release the juice inside, meaning there will be more of it to squeeze out. Once this has been done, cut all lemons in half and squeeze them over your closed fingers or over a fine mesh strainer with the pitcher used to hold the lemonade below it. This will prevent seeds from getting into the lemonade.

3.) Add in the simple syrup and you made on the stove and stir.

4.) Add in the tincture and the vodka, if using, and stir again.

Place a lid on the pitcher or cover with plastic wrap and allow the lemonade to sit in the fridge for about three hours. This will allow it to get ice-cold while the flavours marry.

Cannabis Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary’s have long been thought of as a hangover cure-all, but they’re also great to use for a party as you can just make a big pitcher and set it out for all to help themselves. The recipe below will make about four weed-infused drinks, so if you’re serving a crowd you’ll have to increase the ingredients accordingly. And of course, if you really don’t feel like some hair of the dog, you can always leave out the vodka. If you are after a bit of something a little harder but don’t care for vodka, you can swap it out for tequila and you’ve got another weed-infused drink, this time by the name Bloody Maria!

Ingredients:

2 cups of tomato juice

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon prepared horseradish

2 teaspoons hot sauce

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 generous pinch of salt (about ½ teaspoon)

1 generous pinch of black pepper (also about ½ teaspoon)

2 teaspoons cannabis tincture

*Optional – 6 ounces of vodka

*Optional – garnishes including celery seed, lemon wedges, celery stalks, olives, whatever you’d like!

Directions:

1.) If using celery seed as a garnish, run a lemon wedge around the rim of a glass. Sprinkle celery seed on a plate and, turning the glass upside down and place the moistened rim into the seed. Turn slightly to ensure the entire rim is coated with celery seed.

2.) Add tomato juice, vodka if using, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, hot sauce, lemon juice, cannabis tincture, and salt and pepper into a large pitcher. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed and add ice if leaving out for guests.

3.) Pour the mixture into a glass and garnish with celery stalks, lemon wedges, celery sticks, and anything else you or your guests may like.

Cocktails are a great way to relax and destress after a particularly long day, while mocktails can be just as good for those who choose not to imbibe. No matter which type you’re enjoying, creating any one of these weed-infused drinks will make for a nice finish to your day.
