Thai Stick strain information

Thai Stick is a pure sativa landrace that originates in the tropical jungles of Thailand. The strain got its name from the way in which Thai farmers used to smoke it. Once harvested the original Thai Stick weed was wrapped around bamboo skewers, glued together with hash oil, wrapped in fan leaves and then tied with hemp string. The outcome was a fat cigar-like joint, that was soaked in THC rich hash oil, creating a high that was way beyond the strains 24% THC level. Thai Stick became famous during the Vietnam war where American GIs tried the exotic weed for the first time and fell in love with a strain that was far superior to what was available in the US at the time.

How do you grow Thai Stick cannabis seeds?

A stimulating and expansive sativa style high is what you can expect from Thai Stick weed. The high starts slowly, gradually building into waves of euphoria which flow over you, the body gently relaxing and the mind focusing thanks to the energy boost. A fantastic strain for social smoking and daytime use when clarity and motivation are important, providing a crystal clear high that won't overwhelm you easily.

During the Vegetative Stage:

Thai Stick is pure sativa that grows incredibly tall with long lanky branches and thin fan leaves that help it to grow in humid jungle climates. During the veg stage it grows very fast stretching up towards the light and it can reach 20 feet tall if grown outdoors. You should try to implement training techniques like topping or LST to manage the height of the plant especially if you a growing indoors. Nutrient-wise, focus on nitrogen-rich NPK ratio of 3:1:1 that will support photosynthesis and aid vegetative growth, but gradually reduce this as you approach the flowering stage.

During the Flowering Stage:

As your Thai Stick plant enters its flowering stage, which lasts 12-14 weeks, you can expect your tall plants to begin to produce lots of bud spread out across its long branches. Once you flip the lights switch the nutrients to a 1:3:2 PPK ratio to put more emphasis on phosphorus and potassium which will aid bud development. It’s normal for the buds to be smaller than what you might have experience from indicas, however, the shear size of the plant will make up for this producing huge yields when grown outdoors. Once you reach weeks 9 or 10 start to monitor the trichomes for maturity and then flush your Thai Stick plants for 1-2 weeks before harvest.
