How to grow Northern Lights Autoflower Seeds

Northern Lights Autoflower is a short stocky plant, with an average height of 60cm-100cm, making it perfect for small indoor grows. Mediterranean climates, however it can also grow in cool and high-altitude climates thanks to its ruderalis heritage.

During the vegetative stage

Northern Lights Auto will grow with a short wide structure making it an ideal candidate to LST. You can begin to implement these techniques early in the vegetative stage as soon as the plant is around 3-4 weeks old. Bear in mind that autoflowers only have a 4-6 week veg stage, so once the plant stops growing and begins flowering halt all training and allow the plant to focus on flowering. Go easy on nutrients and start with a very low dose around 1/8 of what you would give a photoperiod from 3rd week onwards, gradually increasing to 1/4 nutrients. As you approach the flowering phase, it's crucial to taper off these nutrients to avoid nutrient burn as you get ready to switch to bloom nutrients.

During the flowering stage

Transitioning to the flowering phase, you will begin to notice the formation of the plants bud structures. Quite quickly these will develop into dense buds that give off a strong pine aroma. With nutrients during the flowering stage, your plant will need a bigger dose of phosphorus and potassium-rich fertilizers to support bud production. Begin nutrient supplementation at the onset of flowering and gradually reduce it 1-2 weeks before harvest. During the final few weeks of flowering you should begin to monitor the trichomes to determine the optimal harvest time, you should be looking out for milky white with hints of amber as this indicates peak potency.

MSNL Editors Verdict

Northern Lights Automatic is a strain that we can confidently recommend for growers looking for an autoflowering Sativa dominant hybrid that gives high yields. Given the fruity aroma, this strain also appeals to growers who value privacy and would not want to announce the existence of their canopy to nosy neighbors.

The scent is appealing while the taste is delectable. The cerebral high is invigorating and refreshing without being overwhelming. This is a strain that can be of use both medically and recreationally.
