How to Make Cannabis-Infused Bath Bombs

The good news is that cannabis-infused bath bombs are very easy to make. All you really have to do is know how to make cannabis-infused coconut oil (a process that is very easy in itself), and then combine a few common ingredients. While they do take a little time to dry, the recipe below makes several of them, so you’ll have weed bath bombs for several weeks to come. And they can be used whenever you need to take the edge off a little.

Of course, anyone that’s made edibles knows that to extract the THC from the cannabis, you first need to cook it in fat. Marijuana is fat soluble, meaning that simply soaking it in water won’t be enough to extract the THC out of it. It has to be fat. And when making cannabis-infused bath bombs, there’s no better fat than coconut oil because it’s so incredibly good for the skin. And making it is no sweat.

Start by placing one and a half cups of coconut oil into a slow cooker. Grind about 37 grams of cannabis into the coconut oil, making sure to use the entire marijuana plant including the buds, stems, and leaves. This is a great place to extract whatever you can out of them. Then, just place the lid on and turn the slow cooker to low.

Cook anywhere from 8 to 24 hours, knowing that the longer you cook it, the more potent your cannabis-infused bath bombs will be. When it’s done, strain the marijuana pieces out of the coconut oil and allow it to cool completely.

Just before the coconut oil cools completely and solidifies, place three to four teaspoons into a large bowl. Add 1/4 cup of lemon juice, two teaspoons of rose water, one teaspoon of essential oil, and two to three drops of food coloring (if you want your bath water to be a pretty color).

In a separate bowl combine 1/2 cup of baking soda, two tablespoons of finely ground Himalayan sea salts, and two tablespoons of food coloring. Combine all the ingredients in each bowl very well and then slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, whisking them until they’re well combined.

Then, wearing rubber gloves, use your hands to knead the wet and dry ingredients together completely until it feels like wet sand. Check the mixture periodically to see if it stays together by squeezing some of it in the palm of your hand. If it stays together, place the mixture into molds (cookie cutters are just fine), and level them with a butter knife. If you find that the mixture just won’t stay together after a long kneading time, add a few more drops of rose water and that should be enough to make the mixture stick.

Once the mixture has been placed into molds, allow them to dry overnight. Once your weed bath bombs are completely dry, you can remove them from the molds and use them whenever you like. If you’re going to be storing them for a while, place them in the fridge to keep them away from heat and humidity.

While this recipe for weed bath bombs will make about six or seven, don’t feel as though you need to have that much weed in order to make it. You can cut the recipe down to suit the needs for how many bath bombs you want to make. But they do last a long time in the fridge so if you want to take a swim in marijuana plants instead of simply smoking it while you’re in there, make these cannabis-infused bath bombs!
